Winklmoosalm

When winter arrives, transforming the alpine world into a winter fairy tale, it is
time to visit the Winklmoosalm. Gorgeous slopes, well groomed cross-country ski
trails and winter hiking trails leading you into the snow-covered Chiemgau Alps –
where winter dreams come true! The lovely alp high up in the middle of the Chiemgau
Alps is located at an altitude of 1,200 m and only 10 km from Reit im Winkl.
A beautiful landscape and a great panorama overlooking the Loferer Steinberge
(2,503 m) make this visit well worthwhile.
What the Winklmoosalm has to offer
The Winklmoosalm offers countless possibilities to winter sports fans - be it
cross-country skiing, alpine skiing or winter hiking. Those who love getting their
cross-country skis out can enjoy the Höhenloipe at the Winklmoosalm (17 km classic
and 27 km skating). If you prefer alpine skiing, there are 12 km of groomed pistes
of various difficulty levels available. But hikers don't have to miss out either.
Several kilometres of hiking trails in a snow-covered landscape await them.
Off-Piste

However, the Winklmoosalm - famous thanks to Rosi Mittermaier - not only provides its special attractions in winter, but during the other three seasons as well. It is the ideal starting point for long hikes, mountain bike and bike tours as well as relaxing walks through calm mountain forests and sunny alpine meadows. Apart from numerous hiking trails, the Winklmoosalm also offers the first German "Nordic Walking High Area", a signposted Nordic walking trail (5.6 km), which gives you the advantage of high altitude training.
